Norrskär
The cutting board range Norrskär is named after the small island of Norrskär, located near the designer’s home, which was known as a fishing village during the 19th and 20th centuries. The shape of the cutting boards is inspired by the super elliptical tables that Bruno Mathsson and Piet Hein created together in the 1960s. Norrskär’s cutting boards are made of teak, a material that is known for its extremely high durability and long lifespan. The teak contains natural oils, resistant to moisture and germs that makes the cutting boards hygienic for both indoor and outdoor use. Perfect for cheese, bread and even fish to reconnect with the fishing tradition in the areas around Norrskär, and maybe even a good bottle to go with the delicacies.
Cutting boards are an indispensable tool when it comes to preparing food. The history of the cutting boards spans from flat formed rocks to today’s wooden cutting boards. The earliest humans used rocks for cutting, crushing, and food preparation. Crafting material specifically for food preparation has been an essential part of civilization. The cutting board remains one of the most indispensable tools for professional chefs and home cooks.
